Herbert Evans was founded in 1889 as a paint manufacturer and distributor. As one of the oldest independent distributors of Plascon products, Herbert Evans recognised the importance of aligning itself with other independent distributors of Plascon products. The Paint Club afforded Herbert Evans the opportunity to collaborate with other large independent distributors to obtain preferential pricing, trading terms and support from Plascon without having to compromise identity or independence. Herbert Evans is able to leverage and make use of the collective purchasing advantage afforded by the Paint Club to compete with the large buying groups and retail chain stores.
